Dolan, Room 212

Dolan Hall 212 was my winter hide-out place during January 24-30, 2005. No car to drive around, no television set to watch, no radio to listen, no newspaper to read, and no one to talk to. This was what I wanted most for the past several years. Up until the departure from home my schedule had been all filled up with multiple responsibilities, and upon arrival back home I shall be put back into that roller coaster again. A telephone receiver and a LAN port in the room were the connecting lines to the outside world, which I put to use to the minimum. A cozy warm double bed, a picturesque, snow covered view of the Octagon and the Grace Auditorium against clear blue sky seen through the window by the desk, and delicious and nutritious meals in the Blackford dining hall all added to my comfort. Quite contrary to what I have been doing when I was attending the CSH Symposia I even avoided meeting and talking to people. I tremendously enjoyed one week of the inspirational tranquility of CSHL and I could concentrate on the theme of my writing.
