Bioinformatics 2000: Writing Software for Genome Research
Evan, are these your shoes? On 9:00 AM Thursday morning, after the Wednesday night "Oktoberfest" at the bar, I walked into the Bioinformatics computer lab to find a scant crowd of bloodshot-eyed souls mournfully reading their e-mail and chugging coffee. Then a certain Case Western faculty member walks in looking like he's just risen from the dead and wearing only socks. "Has anyone seen my shoes?" he asks. Turns out that he had a hard night. The last thing he remembers is staggering off from the bar to find a nice place to lie down. The next thing he knows he's woken up under a dew-drenched bush minus his shoes and socks. Needless to say, he hadn't brought an extra pair. Rob Halgren, our ever-helpful assistant, gave him a lift to Huntington where he did some quick shoe shopping. But the originals have never turned up. If a former student is reading this, and happens to know what happened to this Case Western faculty member's shoes, just post an anonymous reply and tell us where the shoes can be found. No questions asked! |
