My first "curatorial" Assignment
In the mid to late seventies, I was given my first "curatorial" assignment. There is a montage hanging in the Blackford dining rom, which was presented to Barbara McClintock in 1973 by the students in the Molecular Cytogenetics course. Some enthusiastic attendees at a Lab banquet had decided to toss strawberries around, instead of the traditional lobster shells. Some of the strawberries landed on the framed montage and somehow managed to wedge themselves under the glass, staning the mat. I had to have a new mat made and refitted into the frame. I'm happy to put my fine arts training into better use these days.
