Default Tree Lighting Ceremony

Around the holidays, we set up hundreds of sets of lights around the campus.
Someone told me a story once about a tree lighting that happened years ago. The grounds crew that used to put the tree up, plugged a whole bunch of sets of lights together. Now you are supposed to plug maybe only two or three sets together. They were getting ready for the annual tree lighting and they tried the lights out and they worked perfectly. For the lighting ceremony they plugged them in permanently and in about 5 minutes, a fuse blew and all the lights went out. There was all this controversy at the time because they blamed the kids who lived in a house nearby for fooling with the fuses. But the family got mad because it was not their kids who were to blame but the crew who plugged lots of lights together --it was a big catastrophe.
