The first time I went to Cold Spring Harbor was in 1988 when I was a postdoctoral fellow from Italy. Ever since I attended meetings there. The first time I witnessed the gathering of people who played a pivotal role in the shaping of the Human Genome Project. Cold Spring Harbor helps me focus on my research while relaxing in the nice natural setting. Every time I go back it is like I never left; every time I leave I know that I'll return.
