Default a few fond memories

There are several things that I recall as unique to the Lab.

In the early 1980s Walter Schaffner, dressed as the Spirit of Spring, marching down Bungtown Road all the way to Northern State chasing away the Winter Spirits with a forked stick, wearing a costume made of evergreen branches covering his body and a mask made of bark.

There was a ski lift on the hill behind Dolan Hall, once the site of the Page motel. Wheel hubs were mounted on the trees for a rope lift up the hill that was powered by the engine of a Volkswagen Beetle parked on top of hill.

May Murphy, a tiny Irish cook, working in Blackford (as the only cook) standing on a milk crate in order to reach the stove.
